Third meltdown before 8am, I was already late, and I snapped and yelled. He cried, I cried. I apologised but I can't shake the guilt. I'm supposed to be his calm and I lost it. Anyone else carrying this?

You apologised and repaired — that IS the lesson he needed, that grown-ups get it wrong and make it right. A parent who never cracks isn't real. You're human, not a failure.

Carrying it right here with you. The guilt means you care. The repair matters infinitely more than the rupture. Be as kind to yourself as you'd be to any of us posting this.

I needed this thread too. Yesterday was my version. Reset and go again. We're not robots and they don't need us to be.

'Rupture and repair' is the actual skill, not perfection. You modelled accountability today. That's huge for a kid to see.

Crying again but the good kind now. Thank you. Going to go give him an extra hug.
