I see so many parents here pouring every ounce of themselves into their kids (myself included). But here's the thing — dysregulated parents cannot co-regulate their children. If you're running on empty, everything is harder. What are you doing for YOUR mental health and regulation? And if the answer is "nothing" — what's one small thing you could start?

Honestly? I started going for a 15-minute walk alone every morning before the kids wake up. No podcast, no phone, just walking. It's transformed my mornings. I'm calmer, more patient, and more present. Such a small thing but it's been huge.

I finally started seeing a psychologist. Not for my kid — for ME. Turns out I was burned out, anxious, and possibly have ADHD myself. Getting my own support has made me a better parent. It's not selfish, it's necessary.

My wife and I tag-team so each of us gets one evening a week that's completely "off duty." No bedtime battles, no homework help, just time to recharge. It's saved our sanity and probably our marriage.
